Events in the Cité
A place of initiation, the Cité du Chocolat comes alive all day long to the delight of chocolate lovers!

The Cité du Chocolat Valrhona is first and foremost an interactive, multi-sensory tour. Educational and fun, it will enable you to learn more about the secrets of chocolate so that you can enjoy it even better. The Cité offers a range of events to help you develop your knowledge of chocolate. It's a great opportunity to learn more about a particular skill or technique in a practical, friendly way... Tasting included, of course!

At weekends and during school holidays, you can enhance your visit with our discovery workshops.

The coating workshop: you can follow the progress of a chocolate on a mini production line, right through to the final coating and the chocolates ready for tasting.

Flash animations: lasting 15-20 minutes, our animators will offer you quizzes and cabosse flashes.

Discover the programme of our workshops.

From the pod to the grue: discover the cocoa plantations, with the opening of the fruit, the stages of transformation...

Taste and its mysteries: discover one of our most complex senses through a series of fun and tasty chocolate experiments.

The praline: come and find out how pralines are made, and taste the different recipes and stages in the production process - it's a mouth-watering workshop!

Our  workshops are only available in English for groups (10 or more people). For details and bookings, please call 04 75 09 27 27 dial 5.

As the seasons go by, we'll be offering themed activities: hot chocolate and its secrets, the Advent calendar, Easter casts, Halloween activities...

Our temporary exhibitions
Graines de Pâtissier

Discover our new exhibition in partnership with the Valrhona Foundation's "Graines de Pâtissier" program

Graines de pâtissier aims to transform the lives of young people far from employment. Every year, 100,000 young people leave school without a diploma or a job, while our customers worry about the future of their profession. This innovative program aims to re-mobilize these young people by connecting them with passionate craftsmen and the pastry-making profession. At the Cité du Chocolat, we believe in the transmission of passion. That's why we're delighted to host the “Graines de Pâtissier” exhibition, a program that gives a second chance to young people aged 16 to 25, by opening the doors to the world of pastry-making.

Over a period of 4 to 6 months, these young enthusiasts follow a three-stage path:

- Get ready: learn the basics of life skills and brush up on their skills.

- Practice: first steps in the laboratory and immersion in training.

- Experiencing: internships with committed artisans for learning in real-life conditions.

Since 2017, over 550 young people have tried the adventure, and more than half have found their way into the culinary professions. A human and inspiring exhibition, where every portrait tells a story, every gesture reflects a passion and every success is a victory.
