General information

Whether you're a tourism professional or a member of an association, a school or a leisure centre, a company or a works council, the Cité du Chocolat is a unique place where groups can share an exceptional, gourmet and unifying experience.

Five good reasons to (re)discover the Cité du Chocolat

  1.     A fun, educational tour of chocolate, from the harvesting of the cocoa to the making of the chocolate and its processing by the craftsmen of taste.
  2.     A unique gourmet experience that appeals to all 5 senses: an opportunity to taste and appreciate the tastes, shapes, colours and textures of 15 to 20 chocolates.
  3.     Workshops and events along the way, several times a day, to learn more about a particular skill, gesture or technique related to chocolate.
  4.     A 100% chocolate restaurant for a unique savoury culinary experience.
  5.     A children's play area to add to the special welcome offered to children on the tour.

VISIT THE CITÉ UNDER YOUR OWN STEAM

Tourism professionals: please enquire

1h30 to 2h on average

Your group is greeted by a host who presents the Cité du Chocolat, so you can get your bearings and understand the various areas and exhibits. You then visit the Cité under your own steam.

Progressing at your own pace, learn about chocolate tasting, find out about the ingredients that go into chocolate, learn all about the world of cocoa and the farmers’ how-how, get a virtual backstage peek at how cocoa becomes chocolate, with factory staff explaining each stage, etc.

New for 2017: a mini production line for artisanal chocolates, a café for a highly original all-chocolate experience, and new exhibits on the know-how of chocolate artisans and on Valrhona’s history.
